About NYU Dentistry Brooklyn Patient Care
Located at 336 Flatbush Ave Ext Fl 4A, Brooklyn, NY 11201, NYU Dentistry Brooklyn Patient Care operates as a dental clinic serving Brooklyn in New York. This page gathers the practical details people usually look for before visiting: where it is, how to reach it, when it opens and how customers rate it.
Dental care in the United States is delivered mostly by private practices: a general or family dentist who handles exams, cleanings, fillings and crowns, and refers out anything that needs a specialist. Group practices and dental clinics put several dentists, hygienists and sometimes specialists under one roof, often with evening and Saturday hours. Most offices ask new patients for a comprehensive exam with X-rays before routine cleanings, which the American Dental Association recommends every six months. Prices are set by each practice, and most accept dental insurance (PPO plans more widely than HMO ones), CareCredit-style financing or an in-house membership plan for people without coverage. Emergency dental services take same-day patients for toothaches, broken teeth and abscesses, usually at a premium.
Hours are published for 6 days a week. Typical hours are 7 amβ5 pm. Note that it does not open on Sunday. Hours in the United States do change around federal holidays and long weekends, so a quick call before a special trip is sensible. The listed phone number is (646) 997-4300. Many businesses also reply to text messages on the same number if it is a cell phone. Its website is dental.nyu.edu, where you may find menus, price lists or booking options.

Brooklyn is in New York, in the Northeast, where four distinct seasons shape local life: hot humid summers, snowy winters that can close businesses for a day, and a dense pattern of towns where walking, transit and street parking all matter. Getting around Brooklyn is easiest by car; street parking is metered in busy downtown areas, and most suburban businesses have their own lot. Ride-share apps such as Uber and Lyft operate across New York's larger cities, and public transit varies from extensive to minimal.

They do not stand by their estimates of what patients will pay after insurance claims. Neither federal or NYS protections against surprise billing applies to dental bills, so patients do not have any recourse and just have to pay whatever they end up charging if their estimate was wrong. They told me that it would be $110 for a mouth guard. I asked if they were sure because my previous dentists have all said it would be $300-400. They said they were sure. I paid $110 and got the mouth guard. Months later, I got a bill from them for about $400. I contacted them through their website's "billing questions" area and also left messages by phone, and no one ever responded. If I knew ahead of time it cost $500, I would have stuck with the drugstore mouth guards that cost $30 each. $110 seemed reasonable if it would last longer than the $30 ones. $500 is not reasonable, and it's actually more than my past dentists would have charged. Even worse, before I got the bill, I told a single mom friend that I only had to pay $110, and she said she was interested in doing this given that it cost less than what she heard too. Now I'm afraid that will will end up in the same position as I did, and

Our toddler has a huge oral aversion due to being in the NICU and getting intubated a lot for breathing and eating purposes. But Dr. Benichou has an amazing way with him, and we've had several successful visits with her. She's incredibly kind to both our son and us, takes her time answering questions, and does a great job cleaning his teeth. The facility itself is very clean, and we've had a great experience with the desk staff. I will say sometimes it's hard to get someone on the phone, but I feel that's a small price to pay for excellent care for a toddler with somewhat special needs.

PROS: Clean environment, pleasant dental professionals, great downtown Brooklyn location, when appointments are finally scheduled you are seen on time. CONS: Scheduling is ridiculously unprofessionalβit took months to complete a simple replacement crown procedure that should have taken at most 2-3 weeks. One implant took a full year solely because of their scheduling issues. The billing procedures are ad hoc, the prices and balances change on each visit without discernible cause. They are virtually unreachable by phone unless they call you. I suggest that they be used for simple cleanings only unless they work out their poor scheduling, administration and customer service.

The NYU Dentistry Flatbush extension is conveniently located with easy access via public transit, making it highly practical for Brooklyn residents. The reception team operates with notable efficiency, maintaining smooth check-ins and clear communication. Trisha, in particular, consistently delivers prompt, accurate service and demonstrates a high level of professionalism that sets the tone for the entire visit.

Iv been going for 6 months and havenβt had 1 cavity filled they have been working on 1 tooth for 6 months since September, they claim their TO busy and give 1 appointment a month even though I need extensive work and the doctor enforced 2 appointments a month BUT communication doesnβt exist there, on top of that NOONE is ever up there and they have more cancellations then iv ever seen at any office so i donβt see how their so busyβ¦ they donβt follow your dental plan at all I was supposed to get a cavity filled last appointment in my plan but they failed to do anything yet again. my sister graduated nyu this past year and for some reason this dental office is an absolute TERRRIBLE representation of NYU hopefully they can finish something this next appointment, the feeling of care a provider is supposed to give is absolutely absent at this office, switching dentist is a lot when you need extensive work like me, but I am still valid in my opinion and sharing my terrible experience with you guys. Iβll keep you guys updated! P.s take note how of the rapid progression of decay.
